’tis the season to be jolly!

Christmas is a truly magical time of year. having children, i am reminded with every bright smile, eager request, and list of toys, of my own childhood memories from this splendid and serendipitous time. to get the season going and kick things off right, i’m listening to my favorite holiday stations on pandora, putting up the tree and mantel decorations, hanging recent Christmas coloring pages, watching the one true Christmas Carol film, and baking Christmas goodies! my absolute favorite!

love betty crocker’s cookie mix! it’s soooo easy, and fast and delicious! when they say homemade cookies in 20 minutes, they aren’t lying! here you can find the recipe for Martha’s buttercream frosting. so easy and delicious!

i’ve made the recipe enough that i don’t really measure the ingredients anymore. i take a stick of butter at room temp and beat it with my hand mixer until it’s fluffy and “peaks.” then i add vanilla and powdered sugar in batches, to taste and texture, mixing all the while. buttercream is my favorite.

the candy cookies pictured above are betty’s chocolate chip cookies with some m&m’s and extra milk-chocolate tallhouse chocolate chips added in. yuummmm!!!!! enjoy!!!! and happiest of holidays to everyone!!!!!

i’d love to hear your tricks and treats for making the holidays special, so please share!!! 😉
